An unique fire protection solution was achieved on the Mawes Ferry, a 100 seater passenger vessel for
Cockwells Boatbuilding.
The vessel is a timber construction
requiring a fire protective coating to prevent the spread of flames to the columns, rafters and also to the timber panelling in the passenger area using the Fabshield system.
To create a fire barrier in the engine compartment a FabStop Fire Batt system was used which created a fire barrier that had the added advantage of improving accoustic performance, a key requirement for the timber constructed Ferry.
